Advocate for landlord-tenant hot line Many people contact the landlord and tenant hot line every day. There are various types of matters we receive inquiries about, most of which require a short explanation of the landlords' and tenants' responsibilities. Often the calls can be answered simply enough, other times the calls need to be referred to various agencies. Call 287-2036 for more information or to volunteer with Legal Assistance of Olmsted County. Specialized reading tutor If you are interested in going through a rigorous training program, we could use your skill on a voluntary basis. There is often a lag time of a few months after a child's parents have requested tutoring, and the time when we are able to make a permanent placement with a tutor. A trained volunteer would be able to work with the child on a temporary basis until a permanent tutor can be secured. Call 288-5271 for more information or to volunteer with The Reading Center. Help seniors and their families make informed choices Senior LinkAge Line volunteers can choose from varying levels of involvement. Volunteers are needed in the 11-county Southeast Minnesota area. Good communications skills needed, especially listening. Phone and/or computer experience is a must. Call 288-6944 for more information or to volunteer with Southeastern Minnesota Area Agency On Aging. |
